Solar-powered Smart Irrigation System (IrrigSmart)
IrrigSmart brings feedback and intelligence into existing irrigation systems using sensors and mobile Apps that allow farmers to save water by 35% and improve crop yield in a sustainable manner.
This is the IrrigSmart solution demonstration on a smart farm. The farmer can monitor and control irrigation from remote location on a mobile App.

The multi-sensor probe measures temperature, humidity and soil moisture content of the farm environment and sends them through a secured network to the farmer on his mobile device. the device is solar powered and could be left on the farm to detect when the soil is dry and automatically calls fot irrigation of crops. It is also able to detects the soil is wet enough and signals the end of irrigation proces.

The controller is the coordinating section of the irrigsmart systems. It receives measured parameters from sensor such as the temperature, humidity and soil moisture content of the farm environment. It uses its inbult algorithm to make decision on wheather the farm needs to be irrigated or not and sends the decision to the pums and electronic valves to perform automatic irrigation process. The farmer only needs to sit back and watch on his mobile device the the automatic watering of the farm with little or no human intervention.
